A few years ago when I planted Faith Journey Church I remember the agonizing process I went through to become an official non-profit, tax-exempt organization. I spent many many hours hassling with the red-tape and all the details that the IRS demands in the process. I was over-whelmed. The whole process took about a year to accomplish. I actually felt convicted about the hours that I spent doing something that I knew nothing about when I should have been investing in more lives – especially in the early stages of planting a new church.
Going through all that hassle has led my wife and I to start a ministry to help new church plants called – Nonprofit Status Makers.
